# AirSwap routes protocol fees transparently using Splits

[AirSwap](https://www.airswap.io) is an open developer community focused on decentralized trading systems. They adopted Splits as a way to route protocol fees between protocol contributors and voter rewards. Entirely onchain with no middlemen!

AirSwap uses the distribution incentive to encourage community participation, so that anyone who distributes a balance earns 1% of the balance. This is a great way for a onchain organization like AirSwap to fully automate the value flow.
